Winter Vacation Stories

Hello peoples.............. how's your winter vacation going, noooo he didn't....... well how about you write anything you want about your winter break! Any trips? New gifts? (Hey that rhymed!) You sad? Nahhh, keep it funny or if your not that type keep it sad, or keep it normal your choice. I really want to hear what you did for your break, no seriously, I'm NOT being cheesy! As my teacher would say, use your "writing muscle" and don't let it get weak, make it strong, so you could be a "star blogger" . Blog on folks! (about winter vacation!)

  1. This isn't really big, but the break just started! Anyway, I LOVE the series Tom Trueheart, and my friend Leila LOVES the series Harry Potter. We're both NOT interested in either book, but yesterday we made a deal, that if I read Harry Potter she HAS to read Tom Trueheart. This is related to winter break because our deal is to TRY to finish it by winter break! Ugh. (It's actually really good! It's not fair no one told me there was mythical stuff in it) FYI- I love mythical things! Anyway, so it's not THAT bad, but what if i don't finish it in time? What's your story so far?

  2. Well, for Winter Break, I'm going to San Diego, and Hawaii! I'm going to San Diego on Christmas Day for about a week, then to Hawaii for New Years for about 10 days. I'll be with my mom and her side of the family in Hawaii and with my dad, his girlfriend, and his side of the family in San Diego. I'm so excited that Winter Break has started!

  14. I just got back from Mammoth and I had the best time. I was writing in my writer's notebook about everything that happened. I went skiing for three days. I went on chairlift 17, 16, 15, 12, 11, 8, and I think more. It was so fun. The very first time I went in two years was on 17. The rest I did after a lot of practice. I went with my dad and my sister, Mori. My mom never wants to go because she thinks she can't and Oren had a horrible experience two years ago so won't go again. Anyway back to the first time, so it was then just my dad and I because Mori forgot her gloves and goggles, you could definitely not ski without either and I have a story with proof. I was once on 17, i took my glove off for a second, and poof, it disappeared, we tried looking for it, but no luck, I thought I could ski without it but then some gut knoked me over and my hand fell in the snow, the gloves were torn up anyway and the other ones were too big, so here's some advice, NEVER take your gloves off on a chair lift, NEVER!!! You need: thermals, a shirt over, snow pants, long thick socks, depends what shoes if your skiing or snowboarding, a snow jacket, helmet or hat, goggles or sunglasses, and gloves. It's very dangerous without goggles, the sun can blind you and snow can get in your eyes. So it was me and my dad and I my heart was pounding really hard I thought it would break the chairlifts. But I couldn't chicken out too, I had to go, so I skied over to the yellow line, listened to fast instructions, and before you could say "Wait I chicken out!" the chair lifted us up above the slopes as slow as a snail in a rush. Once my ski touched the snow, I knew exactly what to do. It felt like I just skied 7 minutes ago. Soon Mori came back and we had the time of our lives. The next two days we tried different slopes and we were able to do 17 in 3 minutes, and if we were chair 42 we came to chair 19 next round. We beat the chairlift!

We didn't only ski, we took a break to go to Yosemite. Usually it's closed in the winter, but there wasn't enough snow this year to close it, and I'm glad because I did things that you could only do like once in a lifetime. (Unless next year doesn't have snow) We were just driving for a long time (like a really long time) and we started seeing lakes, then we started seeing frozen lakes, then we saw people walking on water, then we saw people ice skating on water, then-, we stopped the car, put jackets and gloves on and WALKED ON WATER!!! It was so cool. We played soccer with a large ice cube, we looked down, and hoped to see fish, we took pictures (not enough), and we walked to the middle of the lake! Mori, Oren, and I kept running back to the car because we thought the ice would crack but it never did. We tried to find ice skates but failed. Once we did, it was a little out of our price rang, so we never got to ice skate on water, but we did get to WALK ON WATER!!! It's just so cool.
